Triple glazing
Triple glazing is obtained by the same process as the double glazing only are used three glass sheets separated by two aluminum rods.
As with glazing in the second space between the glass can introduce a rare gas such as Argon's. This gas is very important because it helps improve the thermal coefficient "U".
The most common total thickness of a triple glazing is 32 mm and are mounted mainly on the constructive depth profile of 70 mm , but on the new Rehau GENEO is possible to mount 44 mm thick.
We your support, will continue presenting various combinations of glass and their properties. In figures presented can say that it is effective only on certain profiles (GENEO) or using at least two panes of glass type low-e or solar control.
Remember is that there are double glazed and two sheets with better thermal properties than some triple glazing windows, because the distance between the glass panels drop (from 16 mm to 10 mm) affects the properties of thermal insulation of the window so please consult us before making a decision to ensure that you get the best version of windows.
Common types of triple glazing
Clear + Clear + Low-e
Clear + Clear + Low-e with argon gas, with a thickness of 32 mm package, is the ideal choice when seeking a loss as little heat from inside to outside but also a superior sound insulation .
Package in the joinery assembly is enclosed under the cover figure "soft" front 5, so the low-e glass to glass interior. For 32 mm, with sheets of 4 mm thickness will be 10mm spacer rod.
In the table below can track properties of this triple glazing depending on width of the glass used, space between the sheets and the gas used:
Very important is the value "U" which should be as small as if watching a good thermal insulation.
Triple Glazing Low-e | Coating on surface | Light Trans- mission [%] |
Light Reflection [%] |
Colour rendering index Ra |
Solar factor EN 410 [%] |
Value U EN 673 (15K) [W/(m2K)] |

Triple glazing: Solar4S + Clear + Clear
(similar:SunGuard,DualProtect)
Triple glass with solar control ,retains qualities low-e glass type, but has a higher degree of protection against sunlight outside to inside. Is the right choice when you wish to eliminate greenhouse flats by reason of their natural energy from the sun and also offers an additional noise protection. This can reduce cooling costs in summer.
Package in the joinery assembly is enclosed with cover according to figure magnetron soft face 2, so the sheet of protective glass on the outside.
The following table can follow the combination of glass properties depending on thickness, space between the glass panels and gas used:
Very important is the amount of light reflection but also the value of coefficient "U".
Triple Glazing Solar4S | Coating on surface | Light Trans- mission [%] |

Gas filling rate: Argon 90%.
Triple glazing: Clear + Clear + Clear
Glass Clear + Clear + Clear, is used as a structure when seeking an additional noise protection. For example the interior or house without demanding in terms of significant energy losses.
Assembly in the carpentry package is standard.
Achieving this type of insulating glass is made by the same process with other types of quality float glass, the difference being given by the price (less the acquisition) but also the package properties.
In the table below may follow this type of insulating glass properties:
Triple Glazing Clear | Coating on surface | Light Trans- mission [%] |
Light Reflection [%] |
Colour rendering index Ra |
Solar factor EN 410 [%] |
Value U EN 673 (15K) [W/(m2K)] |

Gas filling rate: Air 100%.
Most effective triple glazing
Decrease distance between the glass panels in the expense of obtaining a triple glazing seriously affect the value "U".This inconvenience can be "adjust" with the addition of at least two sheets of insulating properties in its composition.
In the table below may follow different values of coefficient "U" depending on different configurations:
Glazing | Configurations | Value U EN 673 (15K) [W/(m2K)] |
---|---|---|
Clear + Low-e + Low-e | 4-10-6-8-4 (Argon*2) | 0,9 |
4Seasons + Low-e + Clear | 4-16-6-14-4 (Argon*2) | 0,6 |
