The glass we are using is made by Guardian
Founded in 1932, one of the most significant developments in Guardian’s history occurred in 1970 when it began manufacturing flat glass using the float process. Its developments in quality, safety, versatility and service reflected the changes in the glass manufacturing market worldwide. In 1997, Guardian Industries Corporation launched one of the most comprehensive ranges of architectural glass: the SunGuard series. This confirmed its status as a leading manufacturer and developer of glass for the construction industry worldwide.
Years of experience mean that Guardian offers high quality, modern products backed up by technical support provided by highly skilled experts. With its global headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA, the privately owned company now employs around 21,000 people in over 20 countries. In Europe, the first Guardian plant was established in Luxembourg in 1981, while current operations include nine locations throughout the continent.
Float glass
Clear float-Process
During the Float Glass manufacturing process, molten glass, at approximately 1100°C, is poured continuously from a furnace onto a large bath of molten tin. It then floats on the tin, spreading and seeking a controlled level surface. In the controlled production process, the molten glass is allowed to spread to a width of 300 to 360 cm, depending on the glass thickness being produced. The thickness is controlled by the speed at which the slowly solidifying glass ribbon is drawn through the tin bath. After about 120 m of travel through the cooling Lehr, it emerges as a continuous ribbon of glass at merely room temperature. The product is perfectly flat and has virtually parallel surfaces. Automatic cutters are used to trim the edges and to cut across the width of the moving glass ribbon. This creates sizes which can be shipped or handled for further processing.

Coated Glass - Low Emissivity Glass : ClimaGuard
Modern thermal insulation glass, which, on one hand, ensures low U-values as a result of highly developed coatings, and on the other hand, reduces possible solar energy gains due to its low energy transmittance.
However ClimaGuard, while ensuring the excellent U-value of
1.2 W/m2K (EN 673, ∆T 15K), also has a remarkably high energy transmittance
(g = 66 %, EN 410), which makes it possible to utilize
free-of-charge solar energy for a particularly positive thermal balance of a building.
GUARDIAN ClimaGuard is a soft-coating thermal insulation glass meeting the highest
performance and quality standards.
It is able to meet highest requirements with regard to thermal insulation, transparency and
homogeneity. The product is subject to stringent quality control so that GUARDIAN can ensure its
customers receive a uniformly high quality product.

Laminated Safety Glass
Depending on the properties required from the glass at least two sheets of glass are permanently bonded together using an extremely tough transparent interlayer of Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB). Each sheet of glass is carefully washed before being assembled together with the PVB in a environmentally controlled clean room. After assembly the glasses are permanently bonded together under heat and pressure in an autoclave.
This assembly method allows many different types and thicknesses of glass and different thicknesses and colours of interlayer to be combined to provide a single glass with very specific properties for a host of different design applications.
Characteristics:- indistinguishable from monolithic glass of the same thickness
- breakes safely with broken pieces of glass remaining bonded
to the interlayer reducing the risk of cutting and piercing injuries - resists penetration providing a barrier preventing people
or objects passing through the glass - if glazed correctly, laminated glass will normally remain in the frame after
